MobilePro
So my current business project and development task is MobilePro Solutions. MobilePro is based off the idea that with modern technology a mobile worker does not need an office. He/she does not need a staff, or IT department, or HTML skills or anything else besides the skill to do his job. The goal is to support people who don't work in an office to not need an office.
The two core products that are offered (at the time of this writing) are the PDA software, MobilePro Invoice (MobilePro Invoice Website) and the MobilePro website design and hosting (MobilePro Hosting Website). The PDA software is developed using Visual Studio 2005 and the .NET Compact Framework 2.0. the code is in C# and is about 90,000 lines of code. We use Team Foundation Server for our source control and project management and Gemini for our bug tracking (MobilePro Gemini Website). The website hosting is provided by our two datacenters, one be colocated by ANET in Naperville, IL and the other being located in-house in Bolingbrook, IL. Database are replicated between the two locations so that either location could be taken down without customer's websites being affected. We are using a heavly modified DotNetNuke installation to provide our websites. Most of the graphic design work is done in-house by the MobilePro design team with some amazing Flash (and soon, Silverlight) working coming soon. View a video of the PDA software in action!
